Income Statement 2023/2024

Every year, you will receive an annual statement from your employer with the total income data for that particular year. You will receive the annual statement 2023 after the end of the year 2023 and the annual statement 2024 after the end of the year 2024. If you have (had) several employers, for example in 2024, you will receive several annual statements. You can often download these yourself or they will be sent to you by post or e-mail.

What can you find on the annual income statement?

  • First of all, it contains the personal information as known to the employer.
  • Also the total salary you earned, also known as ‘taxable pay’ (‘fiscaal loon’).
  • You will also find the tax and premiums withheld on the annual statement. This is also called loonheffing or loonbelasting/volksverzekeringen (“wage tax or wage tax/voluntary insurance”).
  • You can also read which tax credits/deductions the employer has taken into account.

You will often not find the untaxed allowances, such as travel expenses, on the annual statement because this is an expense allowance and not a wage component. You will also not find information on the 30% rule because this is already included in the taxable wage and the premiums withheld. However, you will find the information about this on your monthly pay slip.
